The drag that builds the diagram
Pull a line into empty space and the next shape is already there.
Hover over a shape, or tap it on a touch screen, and four dots appear. Drag one onto another shape to connect them. Drag it onto bare canvas instead and DiagramDesk makes the next shape for you — placed, connected, styled to match, with the cursor already in it.

- Connectors that route themselves
- Pull a line between two shapes and it finds its own way round, with a clean elbow and the right arrowhead. Several elbow lines on one side take a place each, and the middle of any elbow drags where you want it.
- Tidy up in one click
- A messy diagram lines up in ranks along its connectors, with even gaps, the way it already runs or the way you choose. Undo puts everything back.
- A check for the usual mistakes
- An unlabelled decision, a step that leads nowhere, a data store never read, a relationship with no cardinality: the diagram is checked against the rules the guides on this site teach, as advice.
- Eight themes
- Recolour the whole diagram at once, from monochrome for printing to a dark sheet for slides. Shapes that were different colours stay different, so the colours keep their meaning.
- Mermaid in and out
- Paste Mermaid code from a README and get a laid-out diagram of shapes you can move and restyle. Any flowchart, sequence, class or ER diagram goes back out as Mermaid.
- Links that carry the diagram
- Share or embed a diagram with a link that holds the whole thing, in the part of the address browsers never send anywhere. Nothing is uploaded.
- 55 shapes, in the proper notation
- The standard flowchart symbols, crow's foot cardinalities, UML arrowheads, containers and swimlanes, plus class boxes, entities, actors and data stores.
- Exports that hold up

Where your work lives
There is no account, because there is nowhere to log in to.
Every diagram is saved in your own browser's storage and never sent to a server. We could not look at your work if we wanted to.
That is a real trade-off, and worth knowing up front. It means no syncing between devices and no collaborating in real time. It also means no sign-up, no password, nothing to delete later, and nothing to leak.

Questions.
Is DiagramDesk really free?
Yes. Every shape, every template and every export is free, with no account and no trial period. The plan is for adverts on the pages around the editor to pay for the site. The editor itself carries none.
Do I need to sign up?
No. There is no sign-up, because there are no accounts at all. Open the editor and start drawing.
Where are my diagrams kept?
In your own browser's storage, on the device you drew them on. They are never uploaded. That also means they will not appear on your other devices on their own: Back up everything saves one file holding all of them, and Restore a backup puts them into any other browser.
Can I use the diagrams commercially?
Yes. What you draw is yours, for work or anything else. Nothing is watermarked and no attribution is asked for.
Does it work offline?
Yes, if you ask it to. The editor runs entirely in the browser and your diagrams are already stored on your device; switch on Keep an offline copy, in the editor or on the start page, and the browser keeps a copy of the editor's files too, so it opens and works without a connection. Browsers that can install web apps also offer to install it, and installing it keeps the copy in browsers that tell the page.
Can several people work on one diagram together?
No. Real-time collaboration needs accounts and a server holding your work, and DiagramDesk deliberately has neither. Share makes a link that carries the whole diagram inside it, for someone to view or copy, or you can export a file or an image.
